They still plan on moving her to the "Step Down ICU"...she could have gone there yesterday, but there were no rooms available.

This site has been set up out of love by friends of Roberta, Michael and Shea. As you know, Roberta has been diagnosed with a dilated aortic root that has caused aortic insuffiency and she had heart surgery on March 28th. The purpose of this site is to get information to friends, family, and people who care about them. Roberta has made it through a difficult surgery and now her recovery begins.

Shea's Care
Everyone is naturally concerned about Roberta & Michael’s daughter, Shea, who is almost 2 years old.
Fortunately, Shea has a wonderful nanny who has been with the family since Shea was born. The nanny, Marcelle, has lovingly offered to stay at the house the entire time that Roberta & Michael are in Texas. Shea is very comfortable with her nanny and her routines will remain in place.
Many folks have asked and offered assistance with Shea and for now, Marcelle has everything covered. Berta & Mike feel very comfortable with the arrangement and are very grateful to have Marcelle’s support.
How you can help....
We all want to know how we can help.
Once Mike & Berta have returned back home which should be right around Easter, one way that we can all help is by bringing them meals. A dinner that is planned out, prepared and brought to them is so simple to do and yet takes so much pressure off Mike and others who will be taking care of Roberta and Shea. Homemade meals are wonderful, but take out meals from local restaurants are just as wonderful and can save a lot of time for some of the busy folks out there. Marcelle takes care of Shea's meals.
Please follow this link to the “Meals Calendar” if you would like to sign up to bring a meal to the family. Simply pick a day and post your name, phone number and what you would like to bring. On your day, please call the house and make arrangements to drop off your meal. Roberta’s recovery is expected to be 6-8 weeks. We hope to be able to provide meals at least 4 days a week during that time. April is booked (THANK YOU!!!) but there are still days in May. There will be times when their family is at the house assisting. Those days will be “blocked off” the calendar.

I just wanted to THANK YOU for setting up this website, I am constantly checking it throughout the day, I am Mike's sister and live in Pittsburgh...I know he is overwhelmed and doesn't have the time or the energy to be calling everyone...this is such a nice way for us to be able to check in on Roberta without having to bother Mike......Thanks again for all you have done for Mike, Roberta and our sweet baby Shea, our family is extremely grateful......Love Joanie
